Thread Lifts

This is a medical procedure that is performed by our inhouse doctor, Dr Bart Kurek. In order to go ahead with this treatment, you will first need to book a face-to-face consultation with Dr Bart. If you have any questions, please email info@fwac.co.za directly.

Thread lifts offer one of the most innovative ways for an aesthetician to offer skin lifting procedures for the face, neck, and body. In addition, thread lifts provide fast recovery times, virtually no scarring, and is considered one of the most cost-effective cosmetic procedures on the market.

How do thread lifts work?

Soft threading, the product used by Dr Bart to complete thread lift procedures, comprises resorbing, bidirectional cones inserted into small incisions in the skin, typically just above the hairline. These threads then hold the skin in place. Since these materials are made up of lactic acid and glycolic copolymers, they are absorbed back into the body within two years and leave no visible scarring.

Thread lifts allow doctors to redefine the focused skin area that may be damaged, sagging, or prematurely ageing by compressing the tissue and lifting the skin using the thread’s bidirectional cones. Once placed, the polylactic acids in the threads promote fibroblast activation and collagen production to restore texture and shape to the skin.

Since thread lifts are inserted into the skin through minor cuts in the skin, they are far less invasive than traditional surgical procedures. As a result, patients generally enjoy a much quicker recovery time and virtually no visible scarring in addition to healthy, radiant, and smooth skin.

Minimally Invasive

Since thread lifts are inserted into the skin through minor cuts in the skin, they are far less invasive than traditional surgical procedures. This means that patients can enjoy a much quicker recovery time and virtually no visible scarring, alongside the results of healthy, radiant and smooth skin.

Who benefits from thread lifts?

During your consultation with Dr Bart, he will discuss your goals and create a realistic treatment plan. Generally, thread lifts are recommended for individuals between the ages of 30 and 60 who show signs of skin damage and premature ageing. However, they are best suited to those with only mildly aged skin.
